between industry leaders, research universities, community colleges, and local schools.

Serial Reciprocity in Workforce Development
Our mission is to provide every student with an opportunity to participate in STEM learning experiences… but resource constraints are always a challenge: not enough time, not enough mentors, not enough money.
But what if we shifted our model, and our institutions served each other? Imagine a system where industry worked with Universities to design STEM resources, Community Colleges manufactured these resources & offered professional development for teachers, and High Schools hosted summer camps for middle schoolers… it’s the Feynman principle in action, where we learn best by teaching others.

Community Manufacturing:
One of life’s greatest joys is taking an idea, and bringing it into the world. CMI equips schools to host advanced manufacturing programs that trains students by designing & creating real products for their communities.
Our Story:
Research
Our work began through a research collaboration, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, to identify barriers to participation in STEM programs. For three years we created over 15,000 robotics kits, and these were deployed to every US State and internationally in 180+ countries. This research helped us identity key challenges and design novel approaches to overcome them.
International Outreach
As we engage students and industry partners globally, we grow new avenues of education, technological outreach and business development. Our programs in the UK, Africa, South America and beyond make a global learning platform with XRP and experiential learning as our ambassadors!
Open Source Consortia
Reaching every student with STEM education is too much for any single organization, and so we formed a consortium of partners with shared commitments and values to take on this challenge. We found inspiration in the open source movement and leveraged our members expertise to apply this to hardware design, content development, and distributed manufacturing.
